Shawn Young  - Crop - Beef - Dairy

Shawn lives on his family farm that he purchased from his parents just south of Warkworth.  He and Gail raise black Angus cattle, as well as sheep- their flock is quickly growing to over a hundred now!

Shawn spent 20 years working on 2 dairy farms, and understands the business of dairy very well.  He has had the pleasure of showing beef cattle all the way to the Royal, and has been lucky enough to have had a Champion there in the past.   His oldest daughter and son-in-law have now taken over the show herd.

Shawn enjoys working on the crop side and taking what he is continually learning everyday to help customers make profitable decisions.

Erin Pettey (O'Connor)  - Dairy - Crop

Erin graduated from the University of Guelph with a degree in Agriculture, majoring in Animal Science in 2009.  She has been working as a dairy nutritionist with Agribrands Purina & the Campbellford Farm Supply group since.

Erin’s passion is dairy cattle and farming.  She brings on-farm experience, knowledge, and enthusiasm to your operation.   The opportunity to work with Purina provides a full team of technical support for nutrition and on farm support.  She acknowledges that there are many factors that effects the dairy cows profitability and enjoys providing the Cow Signals program on farm.

Erin is actively involved in the day-to-day business on her families dairy farm with her husband.  She enjoys giving back to the agriculture community as she sits on the Northumberland Dairy Producers committee, Northumberland Holstein club, Holstein Canada’s National Convention committee, and is an active 4-H leader.

Justin Brennan- Dairy - Crop

Justin grew up on a small beef operation just north of Blessington and came to join the Campbellford sales team in February of 2015. He focuses on dairy nutrition and is a good resource for cropping questions. Every dairy operation has its own challenges and goals, which is where Justin enjoys working with the producers.

In 2009 Justin graduated from the University of Guelph-Kemptville Campus with a diploma in Agriculture. He was immediately hired as an Agronomy Research Technician for the U of G where he worked there for a number of years growing crops, conducting experiments and evaluating new production strategies. Justin spent time in Saskatchewan as an Agronomist with Cargill where he earned his Certified Crop Advisor Certificate. Scouting crops, determining cost of production and providing recommendations to his producers on 45,000+ acres were some of his responsibilities.

During his spare time Justin enjoys travelling, socializing with friends and spending time with a one year old black lab ‘Stella’. Justin and his fiancée Lisa will be getting married summer of 2017, which also keeps him occupied.

Any questions or ideas you’d like to discuss contact Justin and he will work with you to find a solution!

Susan Rutledge  -  Equine Feed Sales - Wholesale

Susan has been with Campbellford Farm supply for over 8 years now. This started out as a part time position as our Equine Feed Consultant. Now she also services the retail locations that we sell to, as well as promote our lines of Dog Food.

Previously, Susan owned two retail locations that had a strong emphasis on Horse Feed, Pet Food and Dog Grooming.

This inspired her to advance her education in Equine Nutrition.

Until recently Susan has been a horse owner and competed at local and NBHA shows Barrel Racing. She is very involved with the executive of the local horse club as well as organizing and running Horse Shows. Her family also own two dogs and used to breed Chocolate Labs.

She finds the Equine Feed Industry Fascinating as there are such contrasting needs, depending on the activity level, breed and the life stage of the horse. It is rewarding to help people pick the right products to help achieve their goals. Susan also enjoys working with the other retail locations as she understands the challenges a small business has to deal with.
