Shawn Young  - Crop - Beef - Dairy

Shawn lives on his family farm that he purchased from his parent just south of Warkworth.  He and Gail raise black Angus cattle, as well as sheep- their flock is quickly growing to over a hundred now!

Shawn spent 20 years working on 2 dairy farms, and understands the business of dairy very well.  He has had the pleasure of showing beef cattle all the way to the Royal, and has been lucky enough to have had Champion there in the past.   His oldest daughter and son-in-law have now taken over the show herd.

Shawn enjoys working on the crop side learning everyday to help customers make profitable decisions.

Jake Talsma  - Dairy - Crop

In 1980,  Jake became a partner in his fathers dairy operation.  The partnership continued until 1989 when Jake and his wife built a state of the art dairy barn with natural ventilation and a gravity flow manure system.  These systems were a first of their kind in eastern Ontario, with the cows averaging 39 litres at 3 times a day milking.   Jake co-founded the very popular Hastings County Dairy Club and the Hastings County No-Till Club     In 2000, the herd was sold due to health issues.

Jake always had a strong interest in dairy nutrition while being a dairy farmer and wanted to persue this passion after selling the quota.   Jake brings his practical experience with him to the Campbellford Farm Supply as a Dairy Consultant.

In his spare time now, he continues to cash crop as Ridgeview Farms with soybeans, corn, and wheat.

Erin Pettey (O'Connor)  - Dairy - Crop

Erin has been part of the Campbellford Farm Supply team since 2004. She started as a summer student and worked part-time throughout the school year. After graduation from the University of Guelph with a degree in Agriculture, majoring in Animal Science, she came back full time.

Erin now specializes in dairy nutrition and spends time in the office looking after sales logistics for all parts of the business. She brings on-farm experience, knowledge, and enthusiasm to your operation.

Erin still works on her parent's dairy farm and is very involved in the dairy industry. She spends her spare time volunteering with the Northumberland Holstein Club, sits on the Northumberland 4-H Association as the secretary, and enjoys showing her Holsteins at local fairs. She was recently married in July 2012.

Susan Rutledge  -  Equine Feed Sales - Wholesale

Susan has been with Campbellford Farm supply for over 8 years now. This started out as a part time position as our Equine Feed Consultant. Now she also services the retail locations that we sell to, as well as promote our lines of Dog Food.

Previously, along with her husband, Susan owned two retail locations that had a strong emphasis on Horse Feed, Pet Food and Dog Grooming.

This inspired her to advance her education in Equine Nutrition.

Until recently Susan has been a horse owner and competed at local and NBHA shows Barrel Racing. She is very involved with the executive of the local horse club as well as organizing and running Horse Shows. Her family also own two dogs and used to breed Chocolate Labs.

She finds the Equine Feed Industry Fascinating as there are such contrasting needs, depending on the activity level, breed and the life stage of the horse. It is rewarding to help people pick the right products to help achieve their goals. Susan also enjoys working with the other retail locations as she understands the challenges a small business has to deal with.
